Pictures Then and Now

I thought you might like to see how much I have grown:

Birthday

I had my first birthday this week. It sure doesn't seem like I have been here that long, but I am thankful that I have a really nice home and a loving human that cares for me a lot. Right now I am sitting in front of the monitor (as usual) watching my human write this blog. Sometimes I want her to pay more attention to me so I stand in front of the monitor to distract her.

Part of my day is playing with my toys and getting my human to go find the ones I send under the furniture and appliances. She still hasn't found some of my hiding places! I'm not cruel, but it's kind of fun watching her go all over the house trying to find my favorite toys. I think she enjoys it, too. I wish she could find my purple ball, it is my favorite one.

We have a routine when it is my human's bedtime. I hide at one end of the loveseat while she is getting ready for bed, and then she comes over to tell me nite, nite. Sometimes I grab her ankle when she walks toward the bedroom because I want her to stay and play for a while.

I wish she would leave her bedroom door open at night, but I still like to play with her feet under the covers and bite at the blanket. We tried it a few times, but she decided she wanted to sleep instead of play so the door stays closed for now.

I have been having fun chasing the bugs that fly near the window in my 'playroom'. I talk to them too. My favorite places to nap are the desk chair, on top of a stack of boxes in the living room, on the chest at the end of my human's bed, and on my human's chest. This latter choice causes problems for my human when she is trying to read (which is a lot of the time), but she usually stops reading and cuddles and pets me a lot.

I don't have a very loud voice (my meow is more like a squeek), but my human thinks it's cute. Also, most of the time when I purr you can't tell unless you are holding me. Maybe those will get louder when I get older.

My human is going on vacation in about 6 weeks and she says I will get a new person to stay with me here. I hope I get to meet her before my human leaves. I'd like to know what I'm getting in to!

I'm getting more social when people come to visit my human, but it takes me a few minutes to warm up to them. One thing I don't like are sudden noises. I have very sensitive hearing and whenever the neighbors in our building make a noise it disrupts my sleep. Oh well, my human assures me that no one will come in and hurt me.

Well, I need to take a nap so I'll say goodbye for now. Remember pets are very loving, so hug your pet today!
